Abstract

Physical and mathematical models of the influx of the sample material into an alternating-current arc discharge plasma are suggested. Analytical expressions describing changes in the rate of influx of the base metal and impurities into the discharge have been derived. Experimental results on the rates of influx of elements from metal samples of gold and silver are presented. They are in good agreement with theoretical data.
