Abstract

A new approximation for the Green's function of a grounded anisotropic dielectric slab is proposed to obtain closed-form analytical expressions for the maximum radiated power of a short printed dipole on an anisotropic substrate. The corresponding surface wave power can also be accurately estimated as a root of a cubic polynomial which makes it possible to compute radiation efficiency due to surface wave loss analytically.
