Abstract
The degrees of linear polarization of the Hα and Hβ lines in an ionized gas are calculated analytically, and the inverse problem of spectropolarimetry is resolved. The parameters of an anisotropic electron distribution in a hydrogen-containing plasma are determined. The dependences of the degree of linear polarization on the parameters of the electron component in an ionized gas are analyzed.
