Abstract

There are many methods that can be used in solving single and system of ordinary differential equations. The mathematical model of the complications and control of Diabetes mellitus is a system of non-homogenous initial value linear ordinary differential equation which has earlier been solved using the method of undetermined coefficient with elimination method. This work is an attempt to solve the model with the Fundamental matrix method with variation of parameters which is an elegant, compact, efficient, straight forward, no assumption method. The method worked well as the results were compared with the earlier solution and computer solution. The method is encouraged and recommended as it uses matrix differential equations theory and applies to more classes of problems than the method of undetermined coefficient which uses assumptions, guesses and modification. The method could be generally applied in different fields.
