Abstract

An analytic potential function with four parameters, which was proposed previousely by two of the authors and can be used to describe the potential curves for doubly charged diatomic ions with both potential minimum and maximum, has been discussed in detail in the present work. As examples, this form of potential functions for ground states of BH 2+,CH 2+ and NH 2+ have been obtained for the first time. The force constants and spectroscopic data for these dications have also been worked out.
