Abstract

Analytic continuation plays a key role in many problems in physics. A central problem is the implementation of a stabilized continuation from approximate numerical data specified on an interior segment γ within the holomorphy domain. The solution to that problem presented in this paper is expressed in terms of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind which refers only to the physical region γ ; in this latter respect it differs from other approaches to the same problem which are normally formulated on the boundary, and has the considerable advantage of dealing directly with the physically relevant functions.
