Abstract

By means of computer simulation, a phenomenological analysis is given of the magnetization behaviour of uniaxial anisotropy materials. Peaks with shapes similar to those in the FOMP (first-order magnetization process) case were found in the first- and second-derivatives of the magnetization curves for values of the anisotropy constants outside the FOMP zones. There are two types of peaks whose amplitudes are finite and infinite, respectively. By mathematical analysis, it was determined that the finite peaks correspond to a kind of magnetization precess in which both d E/d H and d 2 E/d H 2 are continuous. We defined this as a quasi-FOMP. The infinite peaks correspond to a magnetization process in which d E/d H is continuous but d 2 E/d H 2 discontinuous. It can be called SOMP (second-order magnetization process). It was also illustrated that quasi-FOMP - SOMP - FOMP is a course during which the tendency to FOMP is gradually gathered.
