Analysis on the Effect of Implementation of Clinical Pathway on the Diagnosis and Treatment Cost of Uterine Fibroids

Abstract

AbstractObjective. To compare the medical situation and changes in cost of hospitalization for treatment of uterine fibroids at the Beijing Hospital, before and after the implementation of the clinical pathway over the last five years, and analyze the effect on medical care and cost component ratio. Method. We retrospectively analyzed 1,356 copies of medical records selected according to the clinical pathway of uterine fibroids during the years from 2008 to 2012, compared the hospitalization, diagnostic and treatment situation and cost information, performed a contrastive analysis of data obtained before and after the implementation of the clinical pathway, investigated the change in the annual hospitalization situation, and compared the statistical difference by using SPSS16.0 software.
