Abstract

Objective To explore the relationship between sleep quality and social support of nurses in an Army Third-grade Class-A Hospital. Methods A total of 622 nurses were given questionnaire survey by Pittsburgh Sleep Ouality Index(PSQI) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS). Results The total average score of PSQI was (7.72±3.25).301 clinical nurses had sleep quality problem (48.39%). The total average score of SSRS was(35.56±3.71). The SSRS total score and dimensionality score of good sleep quality group were higher than bad sleep quality group(P<0.01). The total score of PSQI and each dimensionality score were negatively correlated with the total score of SSRS and each dimensionality score(P<0.01). Conclusions Nurses have poor sleep quality.Improvement of social support of nurses will have positive meaning for improvement of sleep quality. Key words: Nurses; Sleep quality; Social support
