Abstract

To improve the working performance and working life of electromagnetic clutch of in-wheel motor in micro-electric vehicle, an electromagnetic heat coupling analysis method is proposed. Mathematical model of electromagnetic clutch was established, all the losses were calculated, which were coupled to the temperature field as a heat source. Heat transfer parameters were analysed to determine the coefficient of thermal conductivity, convective heat transfer, equivalent radiation under the natural heat dissipation and fan heat dissipation. Joint calculation model of electromagnetic clutch was established, the temperature fields of the electromagnetic clutch were jointly simulated and analysed. The research results show that the development electromagnetic clutch can satisfy the brake system reliability requirement, only in the case of fan heat dissipation. The conformity of the test results with the final simulation results indicates that this method can be used to accurately and feasibly calculate and analyse the temperature field of electromagnetic clutch.
