Abstract
The comparing analyses between unilateral,bilateral and triaxial seismic response of base-isolated structures with friction pendulum system are carried out.It is found that when the bilateral horizontal ground motions are considered,the displacements of isolation bearing will increase,the accelerations and the inter-story shears of the structures will decrease.When the vertical ground excitation is considered the displacements of the isolation bearing will slightly decrease,the accelerations and the inter-story shears of the structures will increase.So that the influence of multi-axial ground motions on seismic response of the base-isolated structures should be considered.
