Abstract
[Objective]To study the relative factors affecting curative effect in severe brain trauma patients complicated with hydrocephalus.Method A total of 45 cases of severe brain trauma patients complicated with hydrocephalus were enrolled into this study.Clinical and imaging data of all the subjects were retrospectively analyzed.[Results]Ventriculoperitoneal shunt performed on patients with high GCS score, the longest diameter of the third ventricle ≧ 1cm and obvious exudates of the lateral ventricle forehand had a good result.Compared with severe expansion of the lateral ventricle, the effect of ventriculoperitoneal shunt performed on patients with light and middle expansion of the lateral ventricle did not significantly improve.[Conclusion]The indications of ventriculoperitoneal shunt are high GCS score, the longest diameter of the third ventricle ≧ 1cm and obvious exudates of the lateral ventricle forehand.
