Abstract

AbstractObjective. To analyze problems in medical records information reported in a hospital HQMS and to propose improvement measures. Methods. A statistical analysis of the data reported by HQMS is performed in a 3A general hospital and problems in the data are analyzed. Results. “Hospital Quality Monitoring System” data show that “hospital return, patient safety, quality of care” and other aspects of the data are abnormal; the report data generated, such as the number of discharged patients with the occurrence of pressure sores, the number of patients with neonatal birth trauma and the number of discharged patients with the occurrence of blood transfusion reaction do not match the actual situation; and the main wrong message occurring every day in the HQMS concerns disease coding errors, which accounts for 89%.
