Abstract

This paper presents rigorous investigations on leaky wave radiation from a periodic photo induced double grating semiconductor slab using an asymptotic method of singular perturbation procedure based on multiple space scales. The semiconductor structure is periodically corrugated at the upper surface while illuminated from the lower surface plane. Analysis of the field distribution is presented and results of radiation coefficient are reported in the paper. Results clearly showed that the radiation characteristics are enhanced by the periodical illumination, and the leaky wave behavior could be dynamically controlled.
