Abstract

Objective To provide some scientific support to hepatitis B clinical treatment result from the investigation hepatitis B virus genotype distribution in Uighur and Han population in Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Methods Molecular epidemiologic study was performed on 175 samples of HBV infected individuals from Xinjiang district was performed by means of reverse-transcriptional nested PCR. Result Among the 175 of hepatitis B patients, 35 samples were found to be HBV DNA positive. Genotype distribution and the proportion of each sub-genotypes were as follows: 16 copies of Uighur, C1 type 1 cases(accounting for only 2.85%), C2 type 4 cases(accounting for 11.43%), D1 type 8 cases(accounting for 22.86%), D3 type 1cases(accounting for 2.85%), D 4type 2 cases(accounting for 5.71%). 19 copies of Han nationality, B2 type 6 cases(accounting for only 17.14%), C1 type 3 cases(accounting for only 8.57%), C2 type 7 cases(accounting for 20%), D1 type 2 cases(accounting for 5.71%), D4 type 2 cases(accounting for 5.71%). Conclusion HBV genotypes prevailed in Xinjiang district were of great diversity, D type was dominant in Uygur, C type was the dominance one in Han ethnic group. Key words: Hepatitis B; Genotype
