Abstract

This study aimed to determine factors affecting the risk of paddy rice farming in West Tanjung Jabung regency. Respondents were determined using the simple random sampling method. The number of samples taken was 90 farmers from 250 farmer populations. The measurement of production risk used the Just and Pope method. The results of the study indicated that those variabels such as seeds, urea fertilizer, Sp36 fertilizer, and insecticides can significantly reduce the risk of lowland rice production, while organic fertilizers do not significantly reduce the risk of lowland rice production. Production factors that significantly affect the risk of rice production were fertilizer (KCl), organic fertilizer and labor.
