Abstract

In the present study, the behavior of dynamic semi-infinite interfacial crack influenced by SH-wave in a bi-material poroelastic strip (rock medium) have been examined. For this purpose, a theoretical framework has been conferred to establish the exact expressions of stress intensity factor (SIF) for interfacial crack with edges under different loading conditions (non-harmonic loading with constant intensity and harmonic loading with constant amplitude of vibrations) and also with edges are free from stress for the cases of non-harmonic and harmonic loading. Using Fourier integral transform along with Wiener-Hopf method, the exact expressions for stress intensity factor (SIF) are derived. The effects of thickness ratio, porosity of upper layer, porosity of lower layer, displacement amplitude ratio, stress amplitude ratio and inhomogeneity parameter associated with difference in anisotropy of layers on SIF have also been analyzed. Some noticeable peculiarities are also emphasized and manifested through graphical demonstration.
