Abstract

Objective To investigate the characteristics of adverse drug reactions (ADR) in our hospital and its influence on the hospitalization expenses, and to promote the reasonable drug using in clinical medicine. Method 120 ADR cases had been collected from January 2007 to March 2009. And analyzed the drug species and clinical situation of a1l the cases, and analyzed the ages of all patients. Then used pharmacoeconomics to analyze the ADR treatment cost of 83 cases. Results Among 120 ADR cases, the highest proportion is the elderly people, which accounted for 45.83%. ADR was mainly caused by antibiotics, central nervous system drugs and traditional Chinese medicine preparation. The total ADR treatment cost of 83 patients was 6666.51 yuan; the highest single case was 1753.32 yuan; and it was 80.32 yuan per patient. Conclusion Monitoring of adverse drug reactions and prevent the occurrence of adverse drug reactions are effective ways to promote reasonable drug using in clinical medicine.
