Abstract

The staff working at the Australian War Memorial investigated the possible survival of World War One paint on two German aircraft – the Pfalx D.XII and the Albatros D.Va. Samples were analysed using a scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive x-ray abilities and compared with samples donated by the National Air and Space Museum.
