Abstract

The brown (leaf) rust disease of wheat, which is caused by Puccinia triticina¸ is one of the most important diseases in Iran. Investigation of the virulence factors and physiologic races is necessary to produce resistance cultivar in order to study 32 different brown rust isolates for pathogenic factors with the 55 differential genotypes of brown rust studied. Also, 20 elite lines/cultivars of wheat reactions with respect to recognise probable presence of the resistant genes were evaluated. On the base of the resulted, none of them showed pathogenicity for the plants containing genes Lr2a, Lr19, Lr25, Lr28, Lr23 and Lr10+. In Islamabad1 isolate and sari2, each with 80% of pathogenic abundance was located in most occurrence ratio. In the procedure of traverse testing on elite lines and cultivars, Dena, Darab 2, Karkheh, CB227, CB338 and EBWYT-14 were resistant to all isolates in which there is probable presence of resistant genes in the seedling stage. Genes reported in all the regions can be used effectively for synthesis with the responsible and resistant genes in the completing plant stage.
