Abstract

The nature of the water distribution pattern observed from rotary sprinklers has been analysed. Results show that the distribution pattern can be adequately characterized by a Beta distribution function. Values of distribution coefficients based on an incomplete Beta function have been derived for sprinkler systems. A range of minimum and maximum depths in sprinkler systems is predicted by the Beta distribution.
