Abstract

The rapid development in the industrial sector as well as an increasing population worldwide during the past few decades have led to the increase in demand for the energy. We all are familiar that the major source of energy mainly constitutes the fossil fuels which are predicted to get exhausted in near future. Therefore, to serve the increasing demands of energy, researchers were urged to find an alternate renewable source of energy which would be able to replace fossil fuels. This work reports the simulation of an inorganic/organic perovskite solar cell and to study the variation in the conversion efficiency by varying the ETL (electron transport layer), and the HTL (hole transport layer). We note here that the perovskite / absorber layer is kept the same for all combinations of HTL and ETL. The absorber layer taken into consideration in this particular paper is CH3NH3PbI3. Therefore, we compare the results of various cell combinations to obtain the one with the highest conversion efficiency. All the simulation work is done in SCAPS-1D software.
