Abstract

This article is devoted to a review of the main methods of unloading the rotor of a horizontal multistage pump from axial forces. Two methods are considered: a hydrofoam and an opposite arrangement of blocks of driving wheels. The drawings are given and a method for compensating axial force for each of them is described. Their advantages and disadvantages are described. General design guidelines are provided.
