Abstract

Tunnel construction in soft rock formations has always been a focus issue. Taking the 1# tunnel of the China-Tajikistan gas pipeline as background, this study analyzes the construction methods of soft rock tunnels. This study adopts the method of combining numerical simulation and monitoring measurement, and through the comprehensive comparison of the wall rock plastic zone, wall rock deformation, and shotcrete structure under different excavation methods, and analyzes both the full-face method and the bench method. The results show that the maximum dome settlement of the tunnel, the convergence value of the arch waist, the force, and the bending moment of the shotcrete structure are all small during the bench method construction. Therefore, it is safer and more reliable to use the bench method to construct the 1# tunnel in the background projects, and the conclusions obtained can provide references to tunnel construction in similar soft rock formations.
