Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical treatment modalities and effect of acid and alkali chemical injuries. Methods Thirty-six cases (42 eyes) from our hospital were received the compositive treatment, including conjunctival sac flushing, local and systemic anti-infection, vitamin C, amniotic membrane transplantation and so on. Results Forty-two eyes were recovered and visual acuities were improved. There was 1 case with eyelid ectropion, 2 cases with total symblepharon, 5 cases with corneal nebula, 1 case with corneal macula. No eye had corneal autolysis or perforation. Conclusions The ocular chemical injury can obtain satisfactory results when promptly and thoroughly rinsing the conjunctival sac in time, with the drug and surgical treatment.
