Abstract

The brittle link theory is applied to traffic safety system to analyze the safety risk existing in traffic system that is divided into traffic facilities subsystem, traffic operation subsystem and security assurance subsystem. According to the brittle link between traffic safety system and its subsystems, traffic safety brittle relationship model is established. The analysis is carried out on the data from investigation results, taking a certain city's traffic situation as an example. The brittleness indentical entropy, brittleness opposite entropy and brittleness fluctuant entropy are calculated for each subsystem, and the weights of entropy are determined by catastrophe theory, and then brittleness link entropy is also calculated. In addition, the opposite degree coefficient and fluctuation degree coefficient are introduced into the calculation of brittle link entropy. The results show that the brittle link entropy of security assurance subsystem is the biggest. It means that security assurance subsystem is the weakest and the most important.
