Abstract

This paper derives the mean user's response time in the Mini-MAP system, where the user's response time is the elapsed time from the user's request for an MMS service to the receipt of its response service. The queueing model of a node on the Mini-MAP system is presented, where the node consists of the host unit and the network interface unit. It is assumes that the user programs and the MMS services are executed in the host unit, and the LLC services, the MAC services and the data transmission are executed in the network interface unit. The mean user's response time is formulated in terms of the user's request rate of MMS services, the average MMS service time, the average LLC service time, the average data transmission time, and other parameters. The derived user's response time is validated by simulation.
