Abstract

Spin-orbit and rotation-electronic perturbations among the D 1 Δ(υ=8), A 1 Π(υ=6), d 3 Δ(υ=12), and a' 3 Σ + -(υ=17) levels have been observed in the two-photon laser excitation spectrum of the D 1 Δ-X 1 Σ + Z+(8-0) band of CO. To aid in the assignment of spectral lines, both prompt and delayed spectra were recorded, by gating the vacuum ultraviolet fluorescence. Spectra have been analyzed using a weighted nonlinear least-squares fitting method. Detailed assignments and wavenumbers are presented for the D-X (8-0), A-X (6-0), d-X (12-0), and a'-X (17-0) bands, as well as mixing coefficients for the D, A, and d states
