Abstract

The Protein-Protein Interaction networks are the typical complex biological networks, and the analysis of their topological characteristics is one of the most important and widely discussed research topics today. This paper analyzes the topological characteristics of a PPI network based on the theory of complex networks, focusing on degree distribution, average path length, network diameter, clustering coefficient, degree correlations as well as fractality. The experimental results show that this PPI network has the typical scale-free and small-world distributions, low clustering coefficient, negative correlation, but it has no fractal feature.
