Abstract

The threshold anomaly in energy-averaged excitation functions of proton elastic scattering on A ∼- 30 mass nuclei is analyzed in the framework of the Lane model for p-wave threshold effects. A quantitative correlation between the strength of the threshold anomaly and the 2p-wave neutron strength function is reported.
