Abstract

An investigation is made of the stability, with respect to small perturbations, of one-dimensional stationary localised radiation structures ('laser autosolitons') in a wide-aperture laser with a saturable absorber. It is shown that an increase in the active-medium gain makes a stationary autosoliton unstable and gives rise to a pulsating localised structure.
