Abstract

We propose a method, which can be applied to the study of the roaming process in triatomic systems. Being similar to the method of dealing with the equivalent one-dimensional problem in the central force field, a triatomic roaming system is reduced to a one-dimensional problem. With this method, the mechanism of quasi-periodic and bounded motion in the roaming phenomenon can be revealed. Once the triatomic system is given, the roaming trajectories of motion can be derived, which means the evolution of roaming systems may be controlled.
