Abstract

Objective To explore effective methods to strengthen the construction of midwifery service personnel in China and test the effect of the training in order to improve the training of midwives. Methods The National Medical Examination Center cooperated with the China Maternal and Child Health Association to carry out the first midwives' post-training examination in China. The theoretical test scores, the reliability and the validity were analyzed. Results The scores of comprehensive theoretical examination increased gradually with the increase of educational background, and increased with the increase of professional titles. The average difficulty of the test paper was 0.821 1, the reliability was 0.746 5, and the correlation coefficient between the two parts of comprehensive theory and practical skills was 0.456. Conclusions The first post-training examination is scientifically and reasonably designed. Key words: Midwife; Post-training examination; Post competency
