Abstract
Retail productivity is the basis of competitive advantage of retail corporations and the efficiency can reflect the retail enterprise's core competitive ability. This paper applied Malmquist Index to measure retail productivity growth in Chinese retail listed companies during 2000-2009, did DEA to analyze the retail enterprise's efficiency. Empirical study showed that the mean of China's retail companies technical efficiency that had been rising during the 2000-2009 ten years, especially entering the WTO, China's retail company efficiency gradually improving, the greatest contribution is the scale efficiency while the pure technical efficiency is maintaining a balanced trend, total factor productivity index has improved all-over, and the efficiency of retail enterprises improving general originates from the technology progress.
