Abstract

Abstract The revision or drafting of strategic documents is a consequence of and a reflection of changes in the international security environment. The attitude of a state or a supranational entity towards these documents is the best indicator of the state of »strategic culture« in that state or entity. NATO, the EU and many other Allies have over the past period overhauled or adopted completely new strategic documents in the defence and military fields. The Slovenian Armed Forces have also carried out the process of devising the draft Military Strategy of the Republic of Slovenia. The article presents an analysis of this process as a contribution to further exchange of views and systematization of military thought in the Slovenian Armed Forces.
