Abstract

Rationale: Vitamin 25-OH-D deficit has been related to an increase in early mortality in patients on HD, but its supplementation is not part of routine therapy and its prevalence is highly variable depending on established cutoffs and the clinical profile of the patients. The aim of this study was to determine the status of vitamin D and its correlation with parameters related to phosphocalcic metabolism and protein energy wasting (PEW) syndrome.
