Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) base can gather advantage resources, play the scale effect and greatly reduce the cost of PV power generation. It is an important direction for the large-scale development of PV generation in the world. Traditionally, PV power collection in PV plants is based on low voltage AC method which will cause high net losses. Meanwhile, PV plants accessing to the AC power grid are limited by the system capacitive reactance, harmonic resonance, reactive power transmission problem and other problems. PV plants through DC collection method has many advantages compared with AC collection and represents an important trend in the future. The efficiency of the full DC system is about 2 %,~3 % higher than the centralized AC system. The paper studied the DC-series of PV plant, and analyzed the operating characteristics of DC-series PV plant, PV series branch and PV generation units in series branch. In order to evaluate the characteristics of the system, DC-series PV plant model was carried out in Matlab/Simulink.
