Abstract

The soft-rotator model is used for the analysis of the nuclear level structure and the nucleon interaction data for 52Cr. In this work, the optical model calculations of scattering cross sections are self-consistent, since the parameters of the nuclear Hamiltonian are determined by adjusting the energies of the collective levels to the evaluated nuclear structure data prior to the optical model calculation. The model succeeds in describing the low-lying experimental collective levels up to 3.5 MeV and the nucleon interaction experimental data up to 150 MeV for 52Cr.
