Abstract

The neutron flux noise in the KEMA subcritical assembly, described by Kersten (1962), has been analysed by autocorrelation techniques. When a stable suspension was used, the oscillations showed smaller amplitude than with the unstable suspension. With the latter, characteristic periods of 8 and 16 sec were found. With the stable suspension only the 16 sec period was dominant.
