Abstract

Quadrupole distribution fits have been made of high-statistics M\"ossbauer spectra of some amorphous fluorides. The most important role of the value given to linewidth is considered. To analyze the resulting $P(\ensuremath{\Delta})$, the ratio $q=\frac{〈{\ensuremath{\Delta}}^{2}〉}{{〈\ensuremath{\Delta}〉}^{2}}$ is calculated and compared to the values of Czjzek's model. The data are analyzed for amorphous KFe${\mathrm{F}}_{4}$ samples and for various glasses whose homogeneity was also ascertained.
