Abstract

Abstract Under the assumption that two nucleons interact via a static two-body potential, a method of deriving an analytic expression for the rescattering amplitude M 2μ is presented. The present method, which is the modification of the method of ref. 10 ), is then applied for the neutron-proton bremsstrahlung process. It was shown that the derived amplitude does satisfy the assumption of the low-energy theorem and the gauge condition in the low-energy region where the S-wave dominates. Various cross sections for the proton-proton and neutron-proton bremsstrahlung processes are calculated and compared with the available experimental data and other theoretical calculations.
