Abstract

The paper analyzed the influence of various air inlet system parameters on the highly-intensified diesel engine performance from different angles by establishing mathematic model, adopting cylinder combustion model, applying FIRE software for simulation and combining large numbers of experiments and analysis of cylinder micro-mechanism. Through of experiments and simulation analysis, conclusion is made for the researched diesel engine: effective power of swirl ration is not monotonous. When SR=1.5, the effective power peaks and the fuel consumption reaches the bottom; when the surcharge ratio is under 4.5, the power of the engine increases with the growing surcharge ratio; 18K increase of inlet air temperature will cause the effective power reduce by 2KW; in addition, inlet pressure and timing phase also exert much influence on the performance of the engine.
