Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation, work environment, workload, discipline, commitment and job satisfaction on the performance of employees at the offices of industry, trade, cooperatives and SMEs in Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. The study used a survey of 45 employees where this number is the population as well as the sample. The results showed that motivation, commitment and job satisfaction had a positive effect, while workload had a negative effect, while the work environment and work discipline had no effect on employee performance. As seen on the results of the analysed data, motivation has influence on employee performance although the work environment does not affect employee performance. It can also be seen that workload negatively affects employee performance, while discipline does not affect employee performance. On the other hand, commitment has influence on employee performance, while job satisfaction has influence on employee performance. Simultaneously, motivation, work environment, workload, discipline, commitment and job satisfaction influence employee performance. The research was conducted in a rural area therefore it was challenging to get accurate answer from the respondents due to lack of understanding and poor internet condition.
