Abstract

Metallurgical production includes many interrelated, complex technological processes, ensuring the flow of which depends on the reliable and stable operation of the power system. The process of operation of electrical equipment and machines of individual technological units should completely exclude the impact on the overall power supply system. One of the energy-intensive elements of any production is high-voltage synchronous motors of electric drives of powerful pumps, compressors and fans. The start of this type of machine is usually accompanied by high starting currents, which in turn leads to drawdowns of the supply voltage and generally negatively affects the operation of the power system. This article examines the power supply and control system of a synchronous electric drive of an air compressor using Matlab Simulink programs, as well as the search for an optimal solution to limit the loads on the power supply system and the electromechanical complex as a whole.
