Abstract
An electronic bus stop board is mainly used to show the position of the bus, most of which is based on general packet radio service (GPRS) technology. The GPRS-based electronic bus stop board is made up of a bus module, an electronic station board, a management control centre server, and a GPRS communication network. The GPRS-based electronic bus stop board transfers the bus running information between the bus, electronic station board and the central server with the help of Global Positioning System (GPS) positioning technology and the GPRS communication network. This allows the bus running status to be released and updated in a timely fashion. As an important part of the intelligent transportation system, the electronic bus stop board based on GPRS provides great convenience to passengers and managers.
