Abstract
The dependence of the orotron electronic efficiency on the principal geometrical and electrical parameters is obtained on the basis of the approximate analytic theory. The limits of the elaborated theory are found. The efficiency dependence on the ratio of the operating current to the startup current is obtained. The optimum value of the coupling and the maximum efficiency in the load are found. To illustrate this theory, the principal energy parameters of a powerful pulse orotron (for the wavelength lambda =5 mm) are calculated.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
