Abstract

The social and economic consequences of the March 11, 2011 radiation accident at the Fukushima-1 NPP in Japan are analyzed. Data on the contamination of the territory and the expected dose load to the population are presented. The number of inhabitants who as a result of the accident were present on contaminated territory and the economic losses due to the evacuation measures as estimated by the Technical Crisis Center at IBRAE RAN are given. The results are compared with data obtained by foreign specialists.
