Abstract

Cell free fetal (CFF) DNA in the maternal circulation represents a readily available source of material to investigate the genetic status of the fetus. As molecular technologies improve, CFF testing will allow earlier and less invasive evaluation of a variety of disorders including single gene defects. The stage of development when sufficient CFF is present to allow meaningful testing has not been determined. ART provides a precise model as gestational age (GA) is unequivocally established. This study seeks to determine when sufficient CFF DNA may be present in detectable quantities.
