Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical features and prognosis of nonfunctional pancre-atic neuroendocrine neoplasms. Methods The clinical pathology and follow-up data of 23 patients with nonfunctional pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms treated in cancer hospital affiliated to Zhengzhou uni-versity from February 2003 to May 2012 were retrospectively analyzed, including 2 cases of neuroendo-crine neoplasms G1,3 cases of neuroendocrine neoplasms G2,14 cases of neuroendocrine neoplasms G3,4 cases of mixed gland-neuroendocrine carcinoma. Results The overall 1-year and 3-year survival rate was 85% and 68% . The 1-year and 3-year survival rate of G1,G2 and G3 was 97% ,87% ,51%and 65% ,50% ,32% . Different histological types of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms had signifi-cant differences in size,T stage situation, local lymph nodes metastasis and distant metastasis and prog-nosis(Pall 〈 0. 05). The positive rate of Syn expression was 91. 3% ,65. 2% of CgA,56. 5% of CD56, and 60. 8% of Syn combined with CgA by immunohisto chemical staining. Conclusions The prognosis of early nonfunctional pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms is significantly better than that of the patients with advanced PNEN. Tumor size, lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis is the independent risk factors for prognosis of nonfunctional pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms.
