Abstract

A deperturbation analysis is made for the 0-0 band of the AlO(C 2Π r − X 2Σ +) transition measured by Singh and Saksena [Can. J. Phys. 61 (1983) 1347]. The states perturbing the C 2Π r, ν = 0 level are assigned to 4Σ + and 2Σ −. The molecular constants for the C 2Π r, ν = 0 state and the perturbing levels are determined by a deperturbation analysis. The vibrational quantum numbers of the perturbing 4Σ + and 2Σ − level are estimated to be 4 and 0, respectively.
